Our Work
Our songs are inspired by movie franchises, mainly but not solely released during the decade of 2000s. You will meet familiar characters, others liked and beloved, others...well, not so. Nonetheless, the standpoint of the narration differs from the original, trying to explore different pathways for the story to unfold, alternate outcomes to be reached and new meanings to be found.

Bella
"Love can be dangerous, love can be deceiving,
Love can be a challenge for the dead and the living"
You are a special, beautiful, strong, important, lovable person. But there are times when you need someone to remind you of these. And yes, there will be those who will tell you the words you long to hear. At what cost, though;

The first LP of Mawkin J is scheduled to include another 10 songs, inspired, again, by various movie franchises. These are:
The Machine
The Worm
For the Kids
The Drinks are on the House
For a Few Dollars More
All Part of the Show
We'll Have One another
What a Day
There Can Be Only One
Reptile God

Literature
The 2020 quarantine due to Covid-19 was a tough test for all. Individuals had to find ways to cope with social distancing and major changes in the ways they were used to operate in their day to day activities.
For those fortunate enough to have art as a haven, all this time away from others could facilitate creativity and productivity. Oh, how art can save us from ourselves!
For us, this sparkled-among others- the conception and completion of a book. It is a peculiar creation, mixing prose and poetry, horror and romanticism, the common and the uncanny. 34 songs and their reflections, 34 essays, one concluding or contradicting the other.
Signaling multiple personal, interpersonal, artistic and philosophic transitions in its creators life, this work's title, "What's Already Here and What's Yet to Come", seems oddly prophetic to this day,

Older Releases
Mawkin J's predecessor was the theatric rock band Bard Noir. People grow apart sometimes, but, thankfully, there are things left behind to remind you of them. Or better yet, songs.

Mawkin J are currently working to adapt and incorporate those songs into their set-list and discography.
